Vintage Doilies, Table Runners, Etc.
I ALSO LOVE USING THEM IN DOLL MAKING AND OTHER CRAFTS.You can make hats, scarves, collars, aprons, skirts! HERE ARE A FEW EXAMPLES:
On this Annie doll that I made I tea stained a vintage hanker chief and folded it as a shawl for her to wear.
Here she is with a white doily folded and wrapped around her shoulders:
Again, another Annie I made with a small "collar" doily I made just by cutting a hole in the middle of it. Below is 2 pictures showing how easy it would be to make an apron for a doll. Just gather at the top of the doily to the fullness you want and sew. Let your imagination run wild! I will comment on the condition of the doily's here for sale. Keep in mind, if you love primitive ...a hole or a stain fits right into look.
Here is one I cut in half
and stiffened for wings on an Angel doll.
